For those in their last existence in the immaterial-sphere of existence, for them both the eye sense base does not cease and the ear sense base will not cease.

Or else, for whom the ear sense base will not cease, does the eye sense base not cease for that one?

For those attaining final nibbāna in the five-aggregate constituent realm, and for those who, having been reborn in the immaterial realm, will attain final nibbāna, for them passing away, for them the ear sense base will not cease, but the eye sense base does cease for them. For those in their last existence in the immaterial-sphere of existence, for them both the ear sense base will not cease and the eye sense base does not cease.

For whom the eye sense base does not cease, will the nose sense base not cease for that one?

For all those being reborn, for those without eyes passing away, for them the eye sense base does not cease, but the nose sense base will cease for them. For those in their last existence being reborn in the fine-material-sphere, for those in their last existence in the immaterial-sphere of existence, for them both the eye sense base does not cease and the nose sense base will not cease.

Or else, for whom the nose sense base will not cease, does the eye sense base not cease for that one?

For those attaining final nibbāna in the five-aggregate constituent realm, and for those who, having been reborn in the fine-material-sphere and immaterial-sphere of existence, will attain final nibbāna, for them passing away, for them the nose sense base will not cease, but the eye sense base does cease for them. For those in their last existence being reborn in the fine-material-sphere, for those in their last existence in the immaterial-sphere of existence, for them both the nose sense base will not cease and the eye sense base does not cease.
