The Life History of the Elder Nāgasamāla
I placed it upon the stupa of Sikhi, the kinsman of the world.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of honouring the stupa.
3.
Endowed with the seven treasures, a wheel-turning monarch of great power.
4.
The six higher knowledges have been realized, the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled."
Thus the Venerable Elder Nāgasamāla spoke these verses.

Joyful, with a joyful mind, I gladdened my mind at the footprint.

I saw the Buddha Vipassī, the receiver of oblations.

One almsfood was given by me, to the receptacle of the world's oblations.

The Blessed One sat down there, Tissa, the chief leader of the world.

Bowing down, I withdrew, gazing upon the great sage.

Sumedha by name, possessing the thirty-two excellent characteristics.
Five needles were given by me, for the purpose of sewing the robe.

Sharp, quick and comfortable, knowledge arose in me.

I bear my final body in the teaching of the Fully Self-Enlightened One.

The Life History of the Elder Pāṭalipupphiya
Resembling a golden flame, with the thirty-two excellent characteristics.

Having placed a pāṭali flower on my lap, I gathered it up.

Tissa, the knower of the world, the protector, the god among men, I paid homage.
39.
I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of flower-offering.
40.

The Life History of the Elder Ṭhitañjaliya
There I saw the self-enlightened one, with the thirty-two excellent characteristics.

Not far from one who was sitting, on his own mattress of leaves.
I, at the time of death, made a salutation with joined palms again.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the salutation with joined palms.

Thus the Venerable Elder Ṭhitañjali spoke these verses.

The Life History of the Elder Tipadumiya
Tamed, surrounded by the tamed, he departed from the city then.
49.
Whatever was the best basket there, I took up lotus flowers.
50.
As soon as I saw the Self-enlightened One, thus I thought then.
51.
A village or a village territory, or a thousand I might obtain.
52.
Having venerated the lord of the world, I shall obtain the Deathless treasure.
53.
Having taken three red ones, I threw them up into space then.
54.
They held there above my head, stalks upward, faces downward.
55.
Deities in the sky uttered applause.
56.
We shall all hear the Teaching, owing to the flowers.
57.
Standing in the street, being peaceful, spoke these verses.
58.
Him I will explain, listen to me as I speak.
59.
For thirty cosmic cycles as lord of the gods, he will exercise divine kingship.
60.
Three hundred yojanas in height, one hundred and fifty in width.
61.
Furnished with excellent pinnacle buildings, adorned with great beds.
62.
Skilled in dancing and singing, and also adept in music.
63.
A shower of flowers will rain down, divine and red, always.
64.
Wheel-sized red ones will hang down at that very moment.
65.
Having spread out and having wrapped themselves, they will share the same bed at that very moment.
66.
Those lotuses too, red, wafted divine fragrance.
67.
Principality over a district, extensive, incalculable by counting.
68.
When the final goal is attained, he will reach Nibbāna.'
69.
Having venerated three lotuses, I experienced the three accomplishments.
70.
Fully in bloom, red, he will bear it on his head.
71.
There was the full realization of the teaching for a hundred thousand living beings.
72.
I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the three lotuses.
73.
All mental corruptions are completely eliminated, there is now no more rebirth.
74.
Thus the Venerable Elder Tipadumiya spoke these verses.
The Life History of the Elder Tipadumiya is the tenth.
The Nāgasamāla Chapter is the eighth.
