The results of wholesome and unwholesome mental states belonging to the sensual-sphere, fine-material-sphere, immaterial-sphere, and not-included - the aggregate of feeling, the aggregate of perception, the aggregate of mental activities, the aggregate of consciousness; and whatever mental states are functional, neither wholesome nor unwholesome, and not results of action; and all matter; and the unconditioned element - these mental states are indeterminate.

635. What is that matter which is bodily intimation? Whatever stiffening, making stiff, the state of being stiffened, intimation, intimating, the state of having intimated, of the body of one with wholesome consciousness, or of one with unwholesome consciousness, or of one with indeterminate consciousness, or of one going forward, or of one stepping back, or of one looking straight ahead, or of one looking around, or of one bending, or of one stretching - this is that matter which is bodily intimation.

636. What is that matter which is verbal intimation? Whatever speech, utterance, verbal path, utterance, sound, act of sounding, speech, verbal expression of one with wholesome consciousness, or of one with unwholesome consciousness, or of one with indeterminate consciousness - this is called speech.
