The Life History of the Elder Suvaṇṇabibbohana
1.
And I gave a pillow, for the attainment of the highest goal.
2.
I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the pillow.
3.
Endowed with the seven treasures, a wheel-turning monarch of great power.
4.
The six higher knowledges have been realized, the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled."
Thus the Venerable Elder Suvaṇṇabibbohana spoke these verses.
The life history of the Elder Suvaṇṇabibbohaniya is the first.

The Life History of the Elder Tilamuṭṭhidāyaka
With a mind-made body, approached by supernormal power.

With a confident mind, glad at heart, I gave a handful of sesame.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of a handful of sesame.

Thus the Venerable Elder Tilamuṭṭhidāyaka spoke these verses.
The life history of the Elder Tilamuṭṭhidāyaka is the second.

The Life History of the Elder Caṅkoṭakiya
Having gone out to meet him and having done service, I gave a kadamba flower-basket.

Having given a basket of flowers, I rejoiced in heaven for a cosmic cycle.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the caṅkoṭaka.

Thus the Venerable Elder Caṅkoṭakiya spoke these verses.

The Life History of the Elder Abbhañjanadāyaka
Whose mind is like space, without obsession, a meditator.

Ointment was given by me, to the lord of bipeds, such a one.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the unguent.

A place to stay was given by me, to the ascetic, the great sage.

Having raised my joined palms, I spread out a covering of flowers.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the mat.

Named Ekaañjalika, a wheel-turning monarch of great power.

Thus the Venerable Elder Ekañjalika spoke these verses.
The life history of the Elder Ekañjalika is the fifth.

The Life History of the Elder Potthakadāyaka
A gift of cloth was given by me, to those worthy of offerings, unsurpassed.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of giving a book.

Seven māluvā flowers, I placed on the funeral pyre.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of honouring the funeral pyre.

Accomplished with the seven jewels, there were seven universal monarchs.

Thus the Venerable Elder Citakapūjaka spoke these verses.
The life history of the Elder Citakapūjaka is the seventh.

The Life History of the Elder Āluvadāyaka
There I saw one without lust, radiant, beautiful to behold.
I gave him a yam, devoted, with my own hands.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the yam.

Thus the Venerable Elder Āluvadāyaka spoke these verses.
The life history of the Elder Āluvadāyaka is the eighth.

The Life History of the Elder Ekapuṇḍarīka

A white lotus was given by me, with a clear mind.

I do not know of an unfortunate realm, this is the fruit of the white lotus.
