"Monks, a monk possessed of five qualities is practising neither for personal welfare nor for the welfare of others.
Which five?
Here, monks, a monk is himself not accomplished in morality, and does not encourage others to accomplishment in morality;
he is himself not accomplished in concentration, and does not encourage others to accomplishment in concentration;
he is himself not accomplished in wisdom, and does not encourage others to accomplishment in wisdom;
he is himself not accomplished in liberation, and does not encourage others to accomplishment in liberation;
he is himself not accomplished in knowledge and vision of liberation, and does not encourage others to accomplishment in knowledge and vision of liberation.
Monks, a monk possessed of these five qualities is practising neither for personal welfare nor for the welfare of others."
