incapable of realising arahantship.

Stinginess regarding residence, stinginess regarding family, stinginess regarding material gain, stinginess regarding praise, stinginess regarding the teachings -
these, monks, without abandoning these five qualities, one is incapable of realising arahantship.
"Monks, by abandoning these five qualities, one is capable of the second meditative absorption... etc. capable of the third meditative absorption... capable of the fourth meditative absorption... capable of the fruition of stream-entry... capable of the fruition of once-returning... capable of the fruition of non-returning... capable of realising arahantship. Which five?
