Commentary on the Life History of the Elder Kaṇikārapupphiya and So On
From here onwards, everywhere we shall provide the explanation of obscure terms. In the twenty-first, twenty-second, and twenty-third chapters, the names obtained by all the elder monks through merit done by themselves, and the diversity of merit done, the names of those Buddhas who gave the prophecies, and the cities of residence - all are of manifest meaning only, since the method has been stated above. And the meaning of the verses of the life histories is easily understood by the pursuit of the method.
