"There are, monks, these five faculties.
Which five?
The faith faculty, the energy faculty, the mindfulness faculty, the concentration faculty, the wisdom faculty.
And where, monks, should the faith faculty be seen?
In the four factors of stream-entry -
here the faith faculty should be seen.
And where, monks, should the energy faculty be seen?
In the four right strivings -
here the energy faculty should be seen.
And where, monks, should the mindfulness faculty be seen?
In the four establishments of mindfulness -
here the mindfulness faculty should be seen.
And where, monks, should the concentration faculty be seen?
In the four meditative absorptions -
here the concentration faculty should be seen.
And where, monks, should the wisdom faculty be seen?
In the four noble truths -
here the wisdom faculty should be seen.
In how many ways should the five faculties be seen in the four factors of stream-entry by the influence of the faith faculty? In how many ways should the five faculties be seen in the four right strivings by the influence of the energy faculty? In how many ways should the five faculties be seen in the four establishments of mindfulness by the influence of the mindfulness faculty?
