The First Discourse on the Black Snake
229.
"Monks, there are these five dangers in a black snake.
Which five?
It is impure, foul-smelling, timid, fearsome, and a betrayer of friends -
these, monks, are the five dangers in a black snake.
So too, monks, there are these five dangers in womankind.
Which five?
It is impure, foul-smelling, timid, fearsome, and a betrayer of friends -
these, monks, are the five dangers in womankind."
The ninth.
