The Discourse on Full Understanding of Wrath

This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Worthy One, thus have I heard:
"Monks, without directly knowing and fully understanding wrath, without making the mind dispassionate towards it, and without abandoning it, one is incapable of eliminating suffering. But, monks, by directly knowing and fully understanding wrath, by making the mind dispassionate towards it, and by abandoning it, one is capable of eliminating suffering." The Blessed One said this meaning. Therein this is said:
"By which wrath beings, being wrathful, go to an unfortunate realm;
That wrath, having perfectly understood, those with insight abandon;
Having abandoned, they never come again to this world."
This meaning too was spoken by the Blessed One, thus have I heard. The second.
