Michael Xynos
Founder & Director, PaliVerse Project
Professional Background
Michael Xynos has over 30 years of experience in the language services industry. As founder of Intertranslations S.A., he built the company into the largest multilingual content services contractor for EU institutions, delivering translations across more than 100 language combinations for the European Parliament and the European Commission. Throughout his career, he has focused on applying technology and innovation to translation processes, an approach that now drives the AI-powered methodology behind PaliVerse.
The Path to PaliVerse
In 2018, Michael founded the Centre for the Study and Practice of Theravāda Buddhism in Athens—the first in Greece. The centre now serves a community of over 21,000 followers and has produced thousands of hours of Buddhist teachings.
In 2019, the centre invited Most Venerable Ñāṇadassana Mahāthera to teach in Greece. Michael studied under Bhante Ñāṇadassana for six years, gaining an understanding of the Pāli canonical texts and the traditional Theravāda approach to textual study. This training led to the creation of PaliVerse, with Bhante Ñāṇadassana’s contributions foundational to the project’s methodology.
